Around twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the area, bringing powerful gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Destruction

Meanwhile, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
