Bondi Reveals Probe into President's Rivals and Epstein Ties
This past Friday, the Attorney General designated interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an investigation into opponents of Donald Trump and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came hours after the president ordered her to initiate the probe.
During an announcement, the Attorney General praised Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. She stated, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”
This development contrasts with a recent memorandum from justice department officials which declared that documents related to Epstein lacked grounds for further inquiries. According to the memo, authorities “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”
The President Demands Scrutiny of Democrats in Epstein Matter
This news coincides with increasing demands from Trump on lawmakers to resist the public disclosure of Epstein-related documents ahead of an upcoming House vote next week. Several lawmakers are expected to support the release.
Newly public communications from Jeffrey Epstein have brought attention to the president’s past involvement with the sex trafficker, revealing information that he knew more about Epstein’s conduct than he has previously let on.
That same day, the President declared he would ask the DOJ to examine Epstein’s ties with Democrats, specifically naming Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Paradoxically, Trump also referred to the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
